About Scott Rhoades
I was born in Oakland, California, and raised in nearby Newark. I have enjoyed writing since I was about five years old, when I used to make my own books by tracing pictures and making up stories to go with them. My first publication was an essay about baseball, published in the Oakland Tribune when I was 8. I especially enjoy writing stories for young readers.
I spent nearly two years in Austria in the early eighties, and three months in Germany in 2005. I currently work for Adobe, where I manage a team of technical writers. Interesting fact: I started my career writing game manuals at Atari. I'm also on the staff of the Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers conference.
I live in Utah with a wonderful wife, two daughters, four sons, four grandchildren, a retired guide dog, and too many cats.
